Girls Under 16 victory..

I.C.D’s under 16 girls gaelic team recorded their first win of the season this year so far by defeating St. Eugene’s from Castlederg the venue for this was youth sport in Omagh.
The girls got of to a great start with fantastic displays of team work from midfield and the forward line, and from this got two early first scores from Emma Rice and Laura Forker, both getting a point each within ten minutes, followed by great goals from Zoe Templeton and again Emma Rice, with no real response from Castlederg. Other scorers in this half were Megan Bothwell (0-1) and Emma McShane (0-2). At half time I.C.D were leading by two points.
The second half was a different story Castlederg came back with a vengence, scoring 2 goals and 3 points, but with great defensive skills from Hannah Donnelly and Zexia Shillingford, I.C.D quickly back on track with great enthusiasm from midfielders Zoe Martin and Emma McShane, it wasn’t long before they started getting scores again, scorers were Emma Rice (1-0), Laura Forker (0-1), Emma McShane (0-2) and Zoe Martin (2-0).
All the girls showed fantastic displays of skill and determination with a final score of Castlederg 3-5 and I.C.D 5-8. The girls will now take on Strabane next week back up in Omagh. GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!!
