2012/13 winners

Congratulations to Christy McIlvenna, our Artist of the AP for KS4. Christy has produced some outstanding portraiture work recently and you can view some of this in the east corridor by the art rooms. Christy works particularly well with pencil tonal work, as you can see, but she is also extremely talented with watercolour and mixed media. Well done Christy!

Mr Coyle and Mrs Priestley would like to congratulate Year 9 student Katarzyna Kozuch on being awarded Key Stage 3 ‘Artist of the AP’. Katarzyna has displayed a great enthusiasm for Art and has worked hard throughout the year. Her quality of work in lesson time and at home is outstanding. Well done Katarzyna!

‘Mrs Priestley and Mr Coyle would like to congratulate Kirsty Sturgoen on being awarded ‘Artist of the AP’ for KS3. Kirsty is a very talented artist who has an excellent eye for detail. Her watercolour painting work is very controlled and she draws with great precision. You can view more of Kirsty’s work in the east corridor by the Art rooms. Well done Kirsty.’

Mr Coyle and Mrs Priestley would like to congratulate, Year 11 student, Bethany Loughead on being awarded Key Stage 4 Artist of AP1. Since beginning her GCSE course, Bethany has displayed an outstanding dedication to her work and her skills are continually growing. Bethany clearly gains great enjoyment from the study of Art and this is evident in her work to date. Keep up the good work Bethany!

2011/12 winners

Mrs Priestley and Mr Coyle would like to congratulate Year 11 student Cara Loughran on being awarded ‘Key Stage 4 Artist of AP5’. Cara has worked hard throughout her first year of GCSE Art and Design and has produced some lovely work. Cara regularly attends art club after college and this is very apparent in her portfolio to date. She always gives 100% during lesson time and that is why she is so deserving of this award. Well done Cara!

Mrs Priestly and Mr Coyle are pleased to announce that Cliodhna Morgan has been awarded 'Artist of the AP5' for Art and Design. Cliodhna has worked really hard this year and her skills in pencil tonal work in particular have really improved. You can see more of her work on the display boards by the Art rooms. Well done Cliodhna.

Mr Coyle, Mrs Bell and Miss Byrne would like to congratulate Year 11 student Jowita on being awarded Key Stage 4 ‘Artist of AP3’. Jowita is currently completing her first year of her GCSE course, she has produced some outstanding work to date. Jowita is an enthusiastic student who is always determined to complete high quality work.  She works hard both at home and in school. A great achievement, well done Jowita!

The Art department would like to congratulate Year 9 student Lucy Donaldson for achieving ‘Key Stage 3 artist of the AP’ for AP3. Lucy is an extremely hard working and enthusiastic student in Art. She always goes beyond what is asked of her and thoroughly deserves this award. She works hard in class and at home and produces very thoughtful and well considered work. Lucy’s work will be displayed in the corridor outside the Art rooms. Well done Lucy!

 

Mr Coyle and Miss Byrne would like to congratulate Year 10 student Chloe Johnston, who has been awarded ‘Key Stage 3 Artist of the AP’, for AP2. Chloe is a very talented artist who has produced some amazing portraiture work so far in year 10. She is very deserving of this award. Chloe’s work will be displayed in the Art corridor for the duration of AP3. Well done Chloe!

Angel Shek, year 12, has been awarded Key Stage 4 Artist of the AP for assessment point 2. Angel’s project this year looks at animals, particularly dogs and cows. She has produced some fantastic work looking at artists Paul Bell and Ron Burns. It has been great to see Angel’s skills blossom this year and Miss Byrne and Mr Coyle would like to congratulate her on the fantastic work she has produced. Well done Angel. Mr Coyle and Miss Byrne would like to congratulate Year 9 student Mirza Moreno, who has been awarded ‘Key Stage 3 Artist of the AP’, for AP one. Mirza is a very talented artist and always gives her best in both homework tasks and class work. She is very deserving of this award. Mirza’s work will be displayed in the Art corridor for the duration of AP2. Well done Mirza!

Mairead Kelly in year 12 has been awarded Key Stage 4 Artist of the AP for assessment point one. Mairead’s project this year is entitled ‘Reflections and Distortions’ and she has been looking at how water can refract light to obscure how we see things. She has worked very hard looking at a range of artists and taking her own photos to produce some fantastic tonal work in particular. It has been great to see Mairead’s skills blossom this year and Miss Byrne and Mr Coyle would like to congratulate her on the fantastic work she has produced. Well done Mairead.
