ICD Gaelic Success
29 March, 2012

The second Annual Integrated Colleges U-14 Gaelic Blitz was recently held at the Mid-Ulster Arena in Cookstown. Organised by the Ulster GAA Council the event was a great success with nine colleges participating. The team from ICD acquitted themselves extremely well going all the way to the final. In the group stages, the team had good victories over Erne Integrated College, Drumragh Integrated College B team and Sperrin Integrated College. The team had some excellent performances from captain James Eden, Scott Hearne, Pearse Loughran, Dylan O'Hagan and Matthew O'Toole. The youngest player on the team, Ciaran Conway, chipped in with two goals against Drumragh Integrated College B team. In the final game against a physically strong Sperrin Integrated College, the team battled gamefully to secure a one point win, with Pearse Loughran scoring the winning point. In the final, ICD came up against Drumragh Integrated College A team and unfortunately the exertions of the group stages had taken their toll and the ICD side were beaten by an excellent Drumragh squad. All the colleges who took part would like to thank Tony Scullion and his team for organising the event, the Mid-Ulster Arena for hosting the event and the referees who did an excellent job.
