Our Home Economics students where privileged to be on the first 'Taste and Tour Food tour of Belfast City held for college students. They enjoyed making Irish soda bread in Belfast Cookery School and took in a tour of the historic City Hall. From there, they went to the famous St. Georges Market, where they took part in a scavenger hunt, discovering the Armagh Bramley Apple, black bread, mackerel, the Fifteen and much more exciting Northern Ireland produce.
hey were also lucky to meet blogger 'Belfast Times' who spoke about his unusual but successful career.
To finish off a busy day, the students were invited to St Anne's Square restaurant 'Coppi' where they enjoyed homemade Italian pizzas. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all the students who gained an insight into opportunities and careers stemming from Home Economics. More Photos below.
