ICD students run in Ulster Cross Country Finals.

Well done to the students that competed at the Ulster Schools Cross Country Finals in Belfast. In the Senior Girls race Emma Rice narrowly missed out on qualification, finishing 19th. In the Senior Boys race James Cavanagh, Stephen Campbell and Ryan Murray all ran well, with Martin Gervin unfortunately not finishing because of injury. All the students that competed in the Cross Country season will now take a well deserved break before starting to train for the Athletic season, which will start after Easter.

Cross country success for ICD runners

At the recent E District championships held in Dungannon Park pupils from ICD competed against schools from Cavan, Fermanagh and Tyrone. All the races were extremely competitive and ICD pupils enjoyed mixed fortunes. In the early races Grace Leyburn, Dan Reynolds, Chloe Donnelly and Rebecca Flanagan ran well. However, it was in the later races that ICD pupils began to enjoy success with Emma Rice finishing 5th in the Senior Girls race and the Senior Boys team finishing 2nd. The boys team consisted of Martin Gervin, James Cavanagh, Stephen Campbell, Ryan Murray and Leo Carvlho. The senior students will compete for the College in the Ulster Finals later in the month. ICD runners enjoy success.

At the recent E District Championships ICD runners enjoyed good success. The highlights of the day were the performances of the Senior Girls and Boys runners. In the Senior Girls race Megan Bothwell and Emma Rice finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Senior Boys team of Chris Nesbitt, Conor Traynor, Cormac Dolan, Joe Collins, Jason Yau and James Cavanagh finished in 2nd place. In the Minor Boys race Pearse Loughran finished 7th and in the Inter Girls Race Katie Rice finished 14th. All of the above students will represent the College in the Ulster Finals on Wednesday 23rd March in Belfast. A special mention to all the Year 8 students who participated extremely well in difficult conditions .

ICD Success at Integrated Colleges’ Cross Country Championships

At the recently held Integrated Colleges' Cross Country Championships students from Integrated College Dungannnon (ICD) enjoyed considerable success. ICD were represented at the event held in Oakgrove Integrated College in Derry by a squad of 27 runners and they all performed admirably. In the Minor Boys' Race, Pearse Loughran led from the start to come home in first place. There were other good performances from James Eden and Aidan Cairns.In the Junior Girls' Race, Katie Rice picked her way ........

Cross Countrry fundraiser for the Niamh Louise Foundation.

Well done to all who took part in the Staff v Student relay race in Dungannon Park last term. The event raised £200 for the Niamh Louise Foundation. Medal winners for the students were Cormac Dolan, Chris Nesbitt, Pearse Loughran and Jason Yau. The staff were victorious in the team relay winning by just under one minute. Next race is on Tuesday 15th December.

ICD Students Achieve Ulster Cross Country Success

At the recent Ulster Age Group Championships held at Jordanstown, Belfast and Stranorlar, Donegal students from Integrated College Dungannon (ICD) proved to be more than a match for the best runners in Ulster. At the Even Age Group races in Jordanstown Emma Rice running in the U-6 Girls’ race came home in a very credible 8th place to qualify for the Irish Finals in Tramore, County Waterford. In the Senior Womens’ Race Fionnuala Ross ran a storming race to finish 3rd and her reward is a place in a trial race in Waterford for selection for the European Cross Country Championships in Dublin in December. .......
