Well done to all the runners who participated in the Cross Country Races in Armagh. Our students' performances were excellent, and with over 500 competitors, places were well earned. Well done to St Patrick's College, Armagh, for all their work in organising such a successful event.

Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Champions
February 26, 2018

Congratulations to the Year 8 Cross-Country Team who competed today in the Mini Boys, against the top runners in the Province to win the Ulster Schools' Championship Title at Mallusk Playing Fields, Belfast. In a competition against 15 teams, involving 151 competitors, the ICD Year 8 boys were led home by team captain, Ethan Nethery in 15th place. The team finished with 84 points securing the win. The boys are continuing a proven tradition in cross country running at ICD, with the College winning two individual Ulster Titles and one team Ulster Title in previous years. The Year 8 team received a rapturous welcome back, to the College, from students in Year 8, Sixth Form and staff. Well done boys on an excellent result and thank you to Mr Rice for his dedication to ensuring cross country success at ICD.
Winning team included: Ethan Nethery, Matthew Hughes, Elijah Weathered, Jude O'Hara, James Mulgrew, Charlie McCrory, Calum McWhirter, Zach Cowan and Jesse Turner.

Cross-Country Competition

Well done to all of our cross-country students who represented ICD, in Lisnaskea, against 20 other schools yesterday. Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys' Cross-Country Team who qualified for the Ulster Schools' Finals, finishing in 2nd place overall behind St Michaels College, Enniskillen. This was a good performance from the team, who will race in the finals, on 21st February, at Mallusk Playing Fields, Belfast.More Photos

ICD students run in Ulster Cross Country Finals.

Well done to the students that competed at the Ulster Schools Cross Country Finals in Belfast. In the Senior Girls race Emma Rice narrowly missed out on qualification, finishing 19th. In the Senior Boys race James Cavanagh, Stephen Campbell and Ryan Murray all ran well, with Martin Gervin unfortunately not finishing because of injury. All the students that competed in the Cross Country season will now take a well deserved break before starting to train for the Athletic season, which will start after Easter.

Cross country success for ICD runners
February 06, 2012

At the recent E District championships held in Dungannon Park pupils from ICD competed against schools from Cavan, Fermanagh and Tyrone. All the races were extremely competitive and ICD pupils enjoyed mixed fortunes. In the early races Grace Leyburn, Dan Reynolds, Chloe Donnelly and Rebecca Flanagan ran well. However, it was in the later races that ICD pupils began to enjoy success with Emma Rice finishing 5th in the Senior Girls race and the Senior Boys team finishing 2nd. The boys team consisted of Martin Gervin, James Cavanagh, Stephen Campbell, Ryan Murray and Leo Carvlho. The senior students will compete for the College in the Ulster Finals later in the month. ICD runners enjoy success.

At the recent E District Championships ICD runners enjoyed good success. The highlights of the day were the performances of the Senior Girls and Boys runners. In the Senior Girls race Megan Bothwell and Emma Rice finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. The Senior Boys team of Chris Nesbitt, Conor Traynor, Cormac Dolan, Joe Collins, Jason Yau and James Cavanagh finished in 2nd place. In the Minor Boys race Pearse Loughran finished 7th and in the Inter Girls Race Katie Rice finished 14th. All of the above students will represent the College in the Ulster Finals on Wednesday 23rd March in Belfast. A special mention to all the Year 8 students who participated extremely well in difficult conditions .
